Founded in 2007 by indie comedian Brently Heilbron, VHR aims to strengthen the collective by focusing on the individual talents of emerging comedians and relevant out of print comedy of the past.
Past live shows have built up a loyal cult audience that is spreading online. For example, the short comedy films pof "Brently & Mrs. Gould" posted on the myspace site have received over 40,000 hits in a single day.
VHR believes that the audience deserves the respect of a barnstorming show every time. Every performance should be as if the Death of Vaudeville depends on it. In other words, the audience / performer relationship goes both ways and the expectations couldn't be higher. They should be. With all the great new content generated all over there is no greater comedy sin than to be boring.
After all, we're fans, too.
So shout Hooray! It's a new era of satiric celebration and we look forward to sharing it in your town soon and in your ears now!
People should be able to get recorded comedy in the same fashion that music is downloaded and shared.
